This months stamp marks the start of Summer with an exploration of colour.

We took inspiration from Shinbu Ishihara, who was a Japanese surgeon and ophthalmologist. While working at the Military Medical School he was asked to devise a test to screen military recruits for abnormalities of colour vision. He created the Ishihara color vision test in 1918 to explore and detect colour blindness. The first charts were hand painted  by Ishihara in watercolour.

The stamps are printed onto gummed paper and pinhole perforated.
